Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are actually open and will shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house which has a combined gross household earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined household money does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not post any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African click here citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
